One of the most popular ways people use their smartphones is for gaming, and Kathmandu is no exception. With a growing number of local gamers, we decided to sit down and chat with some of them to find out about their favorite smartphone games.

One of the most commonly mentioned games amongst these Kathmandu gamers was PUBG Mobile, a battle royale game that has taken the world by storm. The graphics, immersive gameplay, and constant updates make it a favorite for many. Another popular game in the Nepali gaming community is Free Fire, another battle royale game with similar features. Some gamers also mentioned multiplayer strategy games like Clash of Clans and Mobile Legends as their go-to choices. However, the most unique game we came across was an indie game developed by a group of local students called Sukumbasi, which focuses on social issues in Nepal. These local gamers not only enjoy the game, but also love the fact that it sheds light on important issues in their own country.
